A Palmer in California

Dining Room

Insight

This is our dining room, where the challenge was a narrow space. Working under Feng Shui principles I focused on lighting, materials, color and bringing nature in. It also had to be comfortable and versatile for a family. I chose Hunter Green from Benjamin Moore after researching saturated green paints for their overall look and positive effects. Green is the color of harmony, beginnings, wealth, nature, growth and healing.

Attic Office/closet

Insight

After living in our home for a year, I discovered that there was a secret staircase inside of my closet that led to the attic of the house. It was a dream come true; to create a custom boutique closet and room of my own.

A collection of favorites in one place: Serena and Lily Capiz chandeliers, The Right White paint from Restoration Hardware, art from Hugo Guinness, vintage mixed with modern, etc... Why not surround yourself with what inspires and delights you?

If you have a dream you can make it happen.

Home Staging (on a limited budget)

Insight

Selling a family home is one of the hardest transitions in a person’s life and being available to help in that transition is always an honor. For this project, we combined existing furniture and decor then simply edited and rearranged while adding a few finishing touches. The budget for this project was very tight and we made it work beautifully.

Kitchen

Insight

Inspired by a friend that had all his family pictures displayed elegantly in a small space, Family and friends are everything in life and deserve to be front and center.

The linoleum floors were changed to maple for their durability, yellow backsplash was replaced with polished Carrara Marble, countertops from Ikea to Boos classic maple. The generic stove, that came with the house, we switched to a quality black and gold one made in Italy, we had to wait 9 months for it, but so worth it.

Community Giving

Insight

This is my son’s school, St. Philip Neri. As a thank you to the stellar, dedicated teachers for the constant attention to all our children throughout the pandemic and beyond, I spearheaded renovating the teacher’s lounge, which hadn’t been redone or refreshed since the 1960’s. All made possible with generous donations that came from top realtors in Alameda, whose children also attend the school. After 9 months of collaboration, editing out, cleaning and making smart design choices, the teachers now have a lovely haven to enjoy.

Insight

With the unexpected shift to working from home, we wanted to create a space for my husband that was both fun and functional. I wanted it to be a space that felt like him. We kept all the pieces that he loves and are part of his story and edited out the rest.

We utilized the back half of our detached garage and created a curtain and wall partition. It’s now his sanctuary, where he works and plays!

OFFICE

INSIGHT

This office was created for my fashion-industry client and reimagined from a plain white room to a vibrant, feminine, getaway for her to work and be inspired. We created fabric panels that she can use to make a wall or configure however she likes. She is now surrounded by loved objects, her favorite plants, books, and treasures from her buying trips to Paris and beyond.
